The First of Us All

Last saturday, I attended the first wedding of a friend. How time flies. The period of talk about graduation, finding a job, graduation trips and also weddings (for some early ones). It's indeed heart warming to see a friend getting married. And it's the first. Not those from the older generation but finally one amongst us.

They were both Christians and it was held as a church wedding. As usual, the girls were late except jx. haha the one always on time. We almost missed the grand entrance of the bride! that's really terrible. Running in heels were horrible too. Ended up home with 3 holes on my feet :x.

Here's the lovely picture with the couple!

And of course, I'm finally back from my 3 weeks grad trip. There were lots of thoughts and inspirations. I will leave it till the photos are ready. It has dawned upon me that I am entering the next stage of my life. Stepping into the workforce. Feelings of excitement mixed with reluctance to leave the schooling years. The commencement will put everything to a beautiful end. For now, looking "forward" to the release of NUS results tmr. Al l the best friends!

It's OVER!

One year. 12 months. Weeks of hard work and determination. It's officially OVER!

Today's thesis presentation went very well. Thank God for His mercy and grace. I was worrying over it the past few days. In a blink of an eye. It was all over.

It's ironic that I spent days worrying but only 1 day to rejoice. Many a times, I worry for nothing. But when it's over, I don't really reflect and learn from it. This time, I will.

What is Faith? I asked my mother yesterday. "If only we humans can stop worrying. Wouldn't everything be smooth sailing?" Not in the sense that there's no challenges in life, but that we would be able to overcome all challenges and not worry unduly about them. I learnt that, escaping is not a solution. Embrace it. Imagine yourself overcoming it and you will feel less afraid. I like to think of it in relation to time. Since time pass so fast, it doesn't make sense to worry so much about it and make your time bitter. Treat every single day equally. Don't let the worry for any day spoil the other days. I know it's hard. But I'll try. :) Worries never end unless I dismiss them as worries.

A really long break.

It's been really long since I blogged. Apologies. Looking at this blog gives me a sense of achievement as I reminisce about how I was so excited about designing and creating a blog to provide entertainment, fun and useful information to others at the very beginning.

How time flies. As I grow older, I begin to appreciate and understand when elders give the passing phrase "you children have all grown up". When I was in my teens, I couldn't really understand this concept of growing older. It didn't really hit upon me that I would eventually become an old granny one day. Elders often say this "it's good to be young. Youth is the best present." I would only smile and nod in agreement, BUT not really understanding and feeling the impact of its deeper meanings. Now that I have aged slightly since then, I think I get it. Especially now that I am soon entering a new stage of my life.

I've always wondered where did the Year 4s disappear to after leaving school. I know they have gone to their respective workplace, but it just seemed as though they all vanished instantly. I no longer spot them around in school. Very soon, it's my turn. I'm going to perform a disappearing act! haha.

Life's a process that you can't turn back. I remember I read somewhere that all things come to an end. No matter which part of your life you are at now, remember to treasure it. That stage will pass. When that happens, look forward to the better future. :)

HELP! Survey frenzy

Hello Friends in Singapore!
I need a little help from all of you. I'm currently working on my Honours Thesis on the subject of Recommend-A-Friend programs and would need 1000+ respondents for this really short survey. Approx 1 min.
You can do it multiple times as well because it works by randomization. Just be sure you don't repeat for the same company/service option. Please help me forward to your friends and family too!
Thank you very much! :) Really appreciate the help!
Have a great day ahead! :D
Cheers,
Jinci

The eventual truth we can't escape

Nus results are out today (yesterday actually, cause I took too long to blog!) at 10am for business school. Interestingly, with the advances in technology, there are a couple of ways you could choose to receive the emperor's decree.

Push SMS:

You could register for this service and in the morning... Imagine this. Morning comes around and you open your eyes when you wake up. Instinctively, you reach out for your mobile phone and you see something scary on your phone. Really scary...

CAP Score: ___ / 5.0
Plus all your module grades. Not to worry, you won't see red and get all frightened like what you see in the financial statements.

Now, you have 3 choices.

Number 1: The results are too scary and you decided to plunge back onto your bed and pretend nothing happens. hmm.. Well that will not change anything though. Reality is SET!

Number 2: The results are not too scary and you decide to get out of bed to face reality. Life goes on...

Number 3: Results are Fantastic! you decide to give yourself a day off work and go celebrate! Take an MC and what not. The best birthday gift from the doctor.

Personally, I don't go for this Push SMS service. Ya.. Cause it's just too scary! I don't want it to interrupt into my life! I heard from my friends who subscribed it that it's rather difficult to unsubscribe from it. She tried finding how to but has not found a cure so far. If you subscribe it from year 1 sem 1, that will be at least 6 sems of increased risk for heart attack! Depending if you do your honours, that will be an additional 2 sems. So then, how do I check my results in a safe manner? Option 2.

Myisis online checking system:
Results would be out at 10am. You log on to myisis portal, go to self service on the left, click on view my exams results. Why is this less scary? Cause you go through more steps! And you are in control of the clicking. That way, you can be more mentally prepared.

For me, I prefer to check the results only at night so as not to affect my day. I'll pray to God beforehand and learn to trust in Him. It's all in God's hand. So yup. I've finally checked my results last night. Thank God for all He has given.

Now for the crucial short summary!

Push SMS:
Shock rating: 8/10

It's not getting full marks for that yet. If you dream about your results and jump up from your sleep, then realizing it is true, I'll give it shock rating 10/10.

Myisis online checking system:

Shock rating: 6/10

That's it! Thanks for reading about the most eventual day this semester! Stay tuned!
